Testimonials
 | "Jo & I wanted to drop you a line and say a HUGE
THANK YOU!!!!!! for such a wonderful selection of music and providing
such a great atmosphere for our wedding!!! We have been to so
many weddings where there's a band playing and no-one on the dance
floor which is such a shame, but I have to say Debbie got everyone
bopping along!!! I was totally amazed by your energy & you
sounded amazing too!!! We had such a fantastic night, and such a
big part of that was down to you - if I hadn't had to talk to a few
people through the evening I would have spent the whole night on the
dance floor!!! loved it!!!! We also have to tell you that we
have had sooo many compliments about the band (even my greek gran who
is only really ever exposed to greek music!!). Everyone had a really
good night & loved the energy you all gave out... please pass the
compliments on to the rest of the band!

"What can I say!
Saturday's performance was terrific, I've never seen so many people that
normally sit in chairs up & dancing. Debbie, you sure know how to get
people in the party spirit. All day at work I've been hearing what a great
performance you all gave. Please pass on our thanks to all the band. Once
again many thanks."

"We were
absolutely blown away by how good the band was and the lead singer Debbie
made the celebration a party by getting everyone participating and up on
the dance floor. The choice of songs was perfect and the version of
“You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt was wonderful – we are very grateful for
the band learning this one for us."

"Dear Nigel and
Debbie, I write to formally acknowledge the terrific performance that you
and your band members gave last Saturday at the West Norfolk Medical Ball.
It was a first for me to see so many more people dancing than sitting down
when you started to play! Debbie, your interaction with the guests
was electric; your stage (and floor) presence is A1. This week at
work so many people have told me what a great time they had and how much
they enjoyed the music. Please pass on our appreciation to your
fellow performers. Yours sincerely, Jim Jeffrey"

"We just wanted
to write to thank you so much for being such a huge part of our wedding
day and for making it such a success. It was a pleasure to finally meet
you and you were such a delight to work with. We thought the band was
great and we have had many compliments! Well done on making the ceilidh
such a success – not an easy task with so many people in such a small
(hot) room! It was very much enjoyed by the Scottish and English alike,
many of whom were a little nervous about ‘prancing about’ as they referred
to it! We had the most amazing wedding day and thank you for helping to
make it so personal. Much love Susannah & Nick Lee"

drop you a note to thank you so much for helping to make our wedding day
such a memorable event. The choice of music was great, everything was
totally professional and I know that everyone I spoke to was really
impressed with the quality of the music. Debbie was absolutely superb and
added so much character and personality to the whole set – I was really
impressed. From my perspective it was excellent. Please pass our thanks to
the whole band."

“The Band and particularly Debbie
were fantastic. Debbie has such a warm, welcoming and lively personality,
not to mention a quality voice. The feedback I've received from guests has
been brilliant, please thank them. We'll see them soon in Leicester I'm
sure as lots of my friends will book them."

“Hi Debbie, Thank you and your band for a brilliant
night, you were fantastic and everyone really had a good time. I had a

"Dear Debbie, now that the dust
has settled after Pat's 50th Birthday Party I wanted to say a very big
thank you to you and your band. You were absolutely amazing. Your energy
and sensational voice made our party. The floor was packed throughout the
night and even the most reluctant dancers you coaxed to the floor. I loved
especially the audience participation. All our guests raved about you and
the band afterwards. Thank you once again for giving us such a great and
memorable night."

"We would like to thank you for
making our evening wedding reception such a success. It definitely was a
party never to be forgotten. We were a little anxious as we had not heard
you play live but a call and a few emails to Debbie eased my anxiety. We
definitely did not need to worry you were all brilliant. The first 3 songs
we requested were fantastic – thank you! We especially liked the way
Debbie mixed with the guests and walked around the room singing and
getting others to join in. This was brilliant and was perfect for the
theme of the day which was for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. A
lot of guests commented on how good you all were and many comments were
made on what a good singer Debbie was. We shall certainly be recommending
you to others. Once again a very big thank you from both of us."

Debbie's personal theatre reviews

“Debbie possesses a
wonderful voice.”
Jim Gellatly, Aberdeen Evening Express Music Critic |
 |
“Debbie Boyd took the title role this year and despite a
throat infection making even talking difficult before the show, she gave a
compelling performance and her pizzazz, great looks and stage charisma made
her a perfect choice for a principal boy.”
Encore Magazine, February 2001 on “Dick
Whittington” at The Kings Theatre, Edinburgh.
|
 |
“As the opening chords of the title number blare out across the arena, a
stunning mystery woman takes to the stage, beaming from ear to ear.
Shimmying down the skeletal stairs that form the centrepiece of the set,
Boyd delivered the majority of the highlights, her vibrant voice tingling
the spine throughout Out Here On My Own.”
Edinburgh Evening News [April 2001]
|
|
 |
“The stars – soulful Gwen Dickey, formerly lead singer with hitmakers
Rose Royce, and smoky-voiced Limahl who was frontman for the chart-topping
Kajagoogoo in the 80s – are ably supported by the sexy Debbie Boyd, who
revealed that she was born in Inverness but must have left at a very early
age or we would all have noticed her shapely form, long legs and big blonde
hair. Boyd, who indulged in some dirty dancing on a bluesy ‘Hound Dog’ and
Donna Summer’s ‘Hot Stuff’, also delivered the goods on ‘Out Here On My
Own’, the big ballad from “Fame”.
Inverness Courier [July 2001]
|
 |
“Dean Hussain and Debbie Boyd provided strong, charismatic support. Both
are big talents to watch out for.”
Bradford Telegraph [May 2001]
|
 |
“Debbie Boyd held the ear and eye whenever she appeared or had a
solo. Both newcomers were good value and Boyd came close to stealing the
show."
The Stage [June 2001]
|
 |
“…they shared the stage with the very talented Debbie Boyd, who did a
particularly raunchy version of Elvis’ Hound Dog among many other songs.”
Darlington Evening Gazette [May 2001]
|
 |
“…many of the songs were belted out magnificently by rising theatre star
Debbie Boyd.”
