Debbie Boyd
The Early Years
Debbie Boyd began singing professionally in
Aberdeen, performing original material with funk/soul/jazz band "D&M
Control" before forming melodic rock group "Amoeba Red", with whom she sang
for a number of years. Debbie also played leading roles in many local
musical theatre productions. |

Training
In 1999, Debbie graduated with distinction
from Guildford School of Acting (now
The Conservatoire) winning the musical
theatre prize for being the most outstanding student of her year. She also
played leading roles in both graduation musicals: ‘Lola’ in "Damn Yankees"
and ‘Ilona Ritter’ in "She Loves Me". |
TV, Film & Theatre
Upon graduation, Debbie was immediately
signed by a well known and respected personal manager, and enjoyed a few
years of diverse theatre, TV and film projects including playing ‘Phillipa
Haymes’ in a touring production of Agatha Christie’s “A Murder Is
Announced”, ‘Jenny’ in the musical “Company”, ‘Dick’ in “Dick Whittington”
(Kings Theatre, Edinburgh), “MacGregor” (a new Scottish musical), “Fast
Culture” (A Romanian exchange project), “The Ditch Blair Project” (BBC),
‘Carolina Garcia’ in “Cocaine & Abel” (film), ‘Shania Twain’ and ‘LeAnn
Rimes’ in the UK & Ireland theatre tours of
“Legends of Country” and the 3rd
UK & Jersey tour of
"What A Feeling!" - the 80s Rock and Pop show, where she
starred alongside Limahl (Kajagoogoo) and
Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce), playing
the role previously played by 80s star Sonia. |

Producer
Debbie also spread her wings into the field
of musical theatre production when she co-produced
"Music From The Last
Century", a whirlwind tour of music from 40s swing to 90s pop, featuring a
16 piece orchestra and starring
Bonnie Langford and
Limahl. |

Debbie has entertained countless audiences during her
professional life and brings humour, energy, charm and a wealth of
experience, charisma and natural talent to every performance. |
