How far will you travel?
We’re based in East Anglia and are available for functions in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire (and some bordering areas).
How long do you play for?
We usually play for two hours, split into 2 or 3 sets. Extra sets (party sets, dinner jazz sets, themed sets, Jewish medley and/or Scottish Ceilidh dancing sets) can easily be included, as can earlier starts and later finishes. Please ask at time of booking.
Will I need to book a disco/DJ as well as the band?
The choice is yours! We can be booked with or without a disco as we’ll leave suitable pre-mixed music playing during breaks on our MP3 player (or yours, if you like?). Alternatively, we can provide our own in-house, fully manned DJ service during breaks, which means someone will remain onstage throughout the duration of your party, taking requests from guests and keeping the dancefloor busy during band breaks. Please do ask for more info, if you’re interested in this option. Of course, if you already have a DJ in mind you'd rather use, that's absolutely fine too!
Do you have insurance against accidents and damage at venues?
Yes, we have full public liability insurance of up to £5 million and all electrical equipment is fully PAT tested (certificates available upon request).
How do you dress?
Our usual style of dress is glamorous evening/cocktail dress for the women and smart black suits and shirts for the men. With prior notice, outfits from formal black tie to more informal, funky gear can be worn. 70s and 80s themed outfits are also available, if required.
What are the different line-ups for the band?
Our smallest line-up is the 5 piece band which includes drums, keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, female lead vocalist and 4 male backing vocalists. We can cover nearly every style with this line-up and with 4 backing vocalists, our vocal sound is also very full! Additional players (e.g. sax, trumpet, trombone, percussion) and vocalists can easily be added, up to 10 piece band. Please do ask if you’d like more information.
Do you supply all your own equipment?
Yes, we carry both a 5k and 2k PA (sound) system with us and can use either, or both together, as required. This is suitable for most audiences of up to 400 people and we can also augment our system with additional hired sound equipment, if required, for larger audiences. We also provide atmospheric stage and dancefloor lighting as standard (our dancefloor lighting includes moonflower, strobe and laser lighting effects). Additional lighting shows and special effects can easily be arranged, if required.
How loudly do you play?
We can play as loudly or quietly as you like! We always aim to maintain a party atmosphere on the dancefloor, whilst ensuring seated guests are able to talk comfortably with each other. Please let us know if your venue has a sound limiter as our drummer has the option of bringing an electronic drum kit, which allows us even more control over the volume.
How much do you charge?
Pricing varies according to the size of line-up you prefer, distance of travel, set-up and finish times and length of time you wish the band to play. Please do contact us for a no obligation, personal quote.
Do you have any specific requirements?
Of course, if anything is likely to be a problem, please do just drop us an email or give us a call for a chat, as with a bit of advance notice, we can usually work around most things.
Can you play our choice of first dance?
Of course! We ask for at least 8 weeks notice (preferably more) so we have enough time to prepare and rehearse. We're also very happy to play the original track on CD, if you'd prefer.
How long do you need to set up equipment and perform a sound check?
Ideally, we like to allow 1.5 to 2 hrs to set up all the equipment, depending on ease of access. Our sound check usually takes about 15-20 minutes. Under special circumstances (for example, if we need to set up after your meal and speeches, in the same room) we can reduce our set up time to just under an hour, which would include a very minimal soundcheck.
